What Is an EPG and Why Does It Matter for IPTV?
4 min read
The electronic programme guide turns a list of channels into a proper TV experience. Here's how it works and how to get the most from it.
EPG explained
An EPG is the on-screen schedule showing what's on now and next for every channel, just like a cable TV guide.
Catch-up and reminders
With EPG data, many players let you set reminders or replay programmes from the past few days on supported channels.
Fixing a missing guide
If the guide is empty, refresh EPG in your player's settings or ask support for the correct EPG URL for your app.
